Commodore 16/+4 Repairs

Commodore 16/+4 Repairs
Is your Commodore 16 or plus/4 ill? Do you get a black screen? Or mysterious characters all over the display? We can fix it!

We have stocked up on the hard-to-find chips used in the Commodore 232 series (the Commodore 16, the Commodore plus/4 and the rarer Commodore 116), just so that we can keep these machines running. Not only can we repair your machine, we will also fit a heatsink to the heat-sensitive CPU (and TED in the C16) chips in the machine to keep your Commodore running smoothly.

After many repairs of C16 and plus/4 machines, and with the continuing increasing scarcity of the 8501 CPU used in these machines, the cost for a repair with a faulty CPU or TED will usually be £89.99 (excluding return postage). If we find more supplies of these chips we will be reducing the price. Although the CPU is the fault in about 85% of C16 and plus/4 machines, it's not always the case, so it's still worth having it repaired as we can heatsink the CPU and TED at the same time to keep the machine running into the future.

Simply buy this item on the shop and we'll contact you with the address to send it to.

Please note we don't currently offer cosmetic refurbishments for Commodore computers.

Important things to bear in mind when sending us your computer:

  • Take care when packaging your computer. Ensure the contents are well protected and the parcel is secured. Parcels can be treated roughly on their journey - we are not able to replace items damaged or lost during transit. It's always best to assume the courier will be playing footie with your parcel and wrap accordingly.
  • We ask that if at all possible, computers to be sent NOT in their original packaging. We have 50+ computers in our workshop at any one time and keeping their original boxes isn't practical due to space shortage (we work from home).
  • Last but not least: Always remember to include your name on or inside the parcel. Not being able to identify a machine can present a problem as we often have several identical computers in our workshop at a time.

As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!

    INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS PLEASE NOTE
THE SHIPPING COSTS OF YOUR COMMODORE BACK TO YOU WILL BE REVISED IN THE FINAL INVOICE.
